Today is Friday, June 8, 2012 - another great day but we do need rain again. I'm grateful for another day of "I'm HIV."
Today I did yoga, lifted weights and walked 27 minutes = 1.5 miles for a June total of 16.8 miles. my weight was at 161.4 pounds.
Well, brother Chuck died about 3:30 am this morning, June 8, 2012. His daughter, Andrea, said in an email: "There was a brief moment on Wednesday when he appeared to come awake - opened his eyes and looked at us,squeezed my hand and actually reached for mom's hand. I'm convinced he used all his energy to break through and tell us goodbye, and let us know that he knew we were all there." It makes me tear up to read this.
If there is anything positive about his death it is that he didn't have to suffer - he most likely had a few seconds of pain when it initially hit him in the casino but I would guess he had no pain the rest of the way.
The funeral will be next Thursday, June 14, 2012 in Alexandria, Minnesota. The visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Brad called today and said he is coming home for the funeral. He's flying into Cedar Rapids next Tuesday and he'll go with us and Carron to Alexandria on Wednesday morning. Life will go on but it will be a litte different without Chuck's laugh and good sense of humor.
