Pete's BLOG - Day 26,365. Second debate tonight.

Today is Tuesday, October 16, 2012 - a cool windy fall day. My stats today: 10 minutes of yoga, 10 minutes on the exercise ball and 38 minutes of walking=2.0 miles for an October total of 34.4 miles. My weight was 164 pounds.

QUOTE from Billy Boy Franklin: "If a lie is repeated often enough all the dumb jackasses in the world not only get to believe it, they even swear by it."

My THOUGHTS today: The second debate tonight between Obama and Romney should be interesting. Obama is between a rock and a hard place. He cannot be as "nice" as he was in the first debate and he cannot come across as a disrespectful smart-ass either. Romney is a good debater and he knows how to deflect about anything. This man has told more lies than any other candidate in the history of American elections. He has flip-flopped on every issue, then denies he has done so, but seems to be getting by with it. Obama has to call him on these. He basically will say anything that will get him votes even if it is the complete opposite of what he said yesterday.

It is hard to debate a person like Romney because he can support any position that is necessary at the time since he has been on every side of every issue. I'm wishing Obama the best of luck tonight and am hoping and praying that the American people will feel much different about his performance than they did on the first debate.

Yesterday, I read an article by Joe Klein in TIME. Joe said that "Obama hates the notion of launching precooked zingers in debates. In fact, he hates debates, period, with their false air of portent (a warning of coming evil; sign; omen)  and stage-managed aggression. But if he wants to be re-elected he has to put up with them."
