Pete's BLOG-DAy 26,281. Absentee/provisional ballots could be the decider.

Today is Thursday, November 1, 2012. My stats today: 10 minutes of yoga, 10 minutes on the exercise ball and 45 minutes of walking = 2.5 miles for a November total of 2.5 miles. My weight went to 163.2 pounds.

QUOTE from E.E. Cummings: "The most wasted of all days is one without laughter."

My THOUGHTS today: The headlines in the morning paper: "ABSENTEE IOWANS COULD HAVE THE WHOLE WORLD WAITING." Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The contest for president comes down to a handfiul of swing states, then down to hotly contested Iowa, then down to a handful of counties. And America waits, for several days. Linn County (home of Cedar of Rapids) could have 3,000 absentee ballots out and the pollsters keep talking about a 2,000 vote margin for the presidential race across the state. The auditor of Linn County said that "We could have 3,000 requested absentee ballots in Linn County that never come back." Voters who requested absentee ballots but decide to vote in person will cast provisional ballots, used to record a vote when there are questions about a voter's eligibility. If the voter is declared legitimate his/her provisional ballot will not be counted until two days after the election.
So - it is a possibility that Iowa and Linn County could be a deciding factor in this election - and we might have to wait several days to find out who wins.  I hope not but it is possible.

HUMOR for today from Carol Burnett: Carol said that "Giving birth is like taking your lower lip and forcing it over your head."
