Pete's BLOG-Day 26,321. Women are long livers.

Today is Tuesday, December 11, 2012. My stats today: 10 minutes of yoga, 10 minutes on the exercise ball and 45 minutes of walking = 2.5 miles for a December total of 22.3 miles. My weight was 163.2 pounds.

QUOTE from Brett C. Hoover - author of An Atlas for the Body and Soul: "There is satisfaction in wisdom, in having loved people and accomplished things, in having not wasted all our time with caution and escape."

My THOUGHTS today are about women. I read a remarkable statistic in the paper this morning. The stat was that out of every 10 people to reach 100 years of age - 8 are women. In other words 80% of centenarians are women.  The Census Bureacu reports that there are 53,364 Americans over 100 years of age. That means about 43,000 are women. The majority of centenarians are more likely to be white city-dwellers in the Northeast and Midwest. And the oldest living human in the world is Dina Manfredini, who lives in Des Moines, Iowa - so says the Guinness Book of World Records.

Why do women live longer than men? My opinion is that they take better care of their bodies by eating healthier foods and smoking and drinking less.

HUMOR today for Senior Citizens: Some days you're the dog, some days you're the hydrant.
