Pete's BLOG-Day 26,333-4-5-6-7. Christmas Eve.

Yesterday was Sunday, December 23, 2012. Sunday is my day of rest so no post.

Monday, December 24, 2012. My stats today: 10 minutes of yoga, 10 minutes of liftinbg weights and 50 minutes of walking = 2.7 miles for a December total of 47.7 miles. My weight was 163.0 pounds.

QUOTE is an American Proverb: "Christmas comes, but once a year is enough."

My THOUGHTS today: It is Christmas Eve today -  it will be the 72nd one for Ruth Ann and me. Tonight we will have Carron and friend Dave, grandson Wesley and wife Celeste, granddaughter Ellyn and friend Nate. It is fun to give, especially to the grandchildren - and it is fun to see them enjoy Grandma Ruth Ann's wonderful food. But I do agree with the quote - once a year is enough - it does get a little expensive.

Tuesday, December 25, 2012. No workout today, too cold and Walmart is closed. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with the family. Grandkids Wesley and  Ellyn ( her and friend Nate) stayed overnight and both left by 10 AM this morning. Ruth Ann and I went to the Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque for some relaxation and a little gambling.

Wednesday, December 26, 2012. We stayed overnight at the Canfield Hotel in Dubuque last night, We got home by 2 PM today. The gambling gods were not very kind but it sure was relaxing to unwind from the holiday hustle and bustle - especially for Ruth Ann. She didn't have to think anymore about preparing 8-10 different dishes for Christmas Eve dinner.

Today is Thursday, December 27, 2012. My stats today: 10 minutes of yoga and 41 minutes of walking = 2.3 miles for a December total of 50.0 miles. Surprisingly, my weight was 163.0 pounds.

My THOUGHTS today: I haven't worked out since Monday, the 24th. One thing I've learned over the years is how easy it would be to forget about exercising. The last two days I have done nothing. In Dubuque I stayed in bed for 11 hours and last night I stayed in bed for 10 hours. When I got up this morning I told myself that 2 days of being lazy was enough. So I got back at into my routine. I feel better for doing so. I pride myself on being self-disciplined. My mental outlook is improved when I maintain that self-control.
